The MSN, DNP, AMSN and RN to BSN Student Orientation Manuals for 2026-27 each carry a section called Guidelines for Preceptorship/Internship Courses, and those sections hold nearly every rule that matters: who contacts the preceptor, which forms go to your faculty advisor, when they are due and when you may start. The manuals also list the compliance items, while the program pages, degree maps and the state authorization page fill in hours and geography.

In the Guidelines for Preceptorship/Internship Courses section of each 2026-27 orientation manual (MSN, DNP, AMSN and RN to BSN), with compliance items in the same manuals and hours on the program pages and degree maps.

What does Troy use for clinical compliance?

ViewPoint Screening. Background checks, the drug test collected by Quest, immunizations, the annual physical and other documents are uploaded there and must stay valid from registration to the end of the semester.

Who approves my Troy preceptor?

Your faculty advisor and course faculty approve the preceptor and the clinical setting. The School of Nursing then sends the preceptor and agency agreements, and faculty clear you before any hours count.
